Affordable legal serviceis must

Nagpur: It is believed that justice delayed is justice denied. It equally holds true when a deprived person is not able to afford the fees of a lawyer to get justice. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat expressed concern over this crucial fact of the justice delivery system, wherein the lawyers charge hefty sum as their fees, leaving the poor debarred from the court process. Eventually, they fail to fight their case. Shri Bhagwat appealed to the lawyers to charge reasonably seeing the condition of the client so that they are not deprived of justice. Common man should not face difficulty in getting justice, he said.

Addressing a convention organised by Vidarbha unit of the Akhil Bharatiya Adhivakta Parishad at Smruti Mandir complex he said: “The main objective of lawyers should be to ensure justice to all.” Earlier, delivering Arvind Agashe Memorial Lecture organised by Krishnadas Kakamauli Samadhi Seva Mandal, Shri Bhagwat said India is not only a country, but also an entity whose basis is the soul. “Bharat is not a geographical entity. People here have been following certain rules and practices since centuries.” He said the Indians in other countries might have forgotten their mother tongue, but they have not forgotten their culture. “Large number of Indians have settled in Mauritius. They still want to visit their native villages at least once in life. Indians settled in Caribbean countries still recite ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ and plant Tulsi in their homes,” he added. Sadgurudas Maharaj spoke on the future of India.
